Is the front end going to fall off?
It's starting to look like a puff of wind is going to be all it takes to blow the front of the 'van off! I start in to the other side of the caravan and am not encouraged from what I see. Before: After: Oh, and thats an interesting knot of electric cables. I might as well tidy that little lot up before I replace all the seating!

Again I can see that the damp is right up round the corner and further prodding reveals that this corner timber is rotted away also. Time to see if I can remove that big ole front panel to let me in under the window and into the corners proper. There are no obvious screws or fixings so I looked a little closer at the little ornament shelves. Oh, little staples are holding them in. It is hard to dig these out without damaging the surface but I managed to get them out. The shelves just slide out then and allow a peek into the cavity.

Yuk. I'ts not looking too good in there either. On the left hand side the wood is dry so thats a bonus. But I am going to have to get at this wood and renew it. I still cannot see a way in though, it may be that it is fixed from the outside. The rail that runs along the outside, under the front window is at the same height as the shelf. They may be fixed to one another. It will have to keep until another day...don't let the sunshine fool you, it is bitterly cold outside and the hail and rain showers are frequent. Time to tidy up and go get a cuppa! |
